Handmade felt, commissions and workshops for groups and individuals

My love of textiles started from a very young age and has lead me to a life long love of arts and crafts.  I first began working with wool fibres around 15 years ago and I am a qualified adult education teacher.  I have taught City and Guilds feltmaking for 6 years along with design for craft and also hold City and Guilds certificates in both feltmaking and machine embroidery.  I am currently teaching City and Guilds level 2 feltmaking at Westhope Craft College in Shropshire alongside my own felt courses.

It is the versatile and tactile nature of wool that made working in fibres love at first sight.  I am enthusiastic and very passionate about fibres and this reflects in both my work and teaching from the feedback I receive.  Design, colour, line, shape, form and in particular texture are important elements in the construction of my work.  I particularly enjoy the challenge of creating something that is unique from design through to the finished piece, not liking what you are making, resolving design problems to then loving your finished piece, I find exciting.

My work is varied and there is no particular technique or fibre, at this current time, that I would say is my speciality.  I am constantly evolving with new techniques learned and by discovery, with inspiration from everyday living from both natural and man made environments and words.

Thank you for visiting my website, warm wishes and happy felting,
